What are the IMAP and SMTP servers?
Click here if you are looking for the SMTP settings to use for your website
When you create an email account on cPanel, you can configure it on your usual email client with the following instructions:
If you have a different email client, you can use the settings below:
| Encrypted connection (recommended) | Unencrypted connection |
|---|---|---|
Incoming server (IMAP) |
|
|
Server name / Host | "mail." followed by your domain name(e.g., mail.mapetiteentreprise.re if your domain name is mapetitentreprise.re) | "mail." followed by your domain name(e.g., mail.mapetiteentreprise.re if your domain name is mapetitentreprise.re) |
Username / Login | Full email address with domain name(e.g., contact@mapetiteentreprise.re) | Full email address with domain name(e.g., contact@mapetiteentreprise.re) |
Password | Password configured on cPanel | Password configured on cPanel |
Port (incoming) | 993 | 143 |
SSL/TLS secure connection | yes | no |
Outgoing server (SMTP) |
|
|

Username / Login | Full email address with domain name(e.g., contact@mapetiteentreprise.re) | Full email address with domain name(e.g., contact@mapetiteentreprise.re) |
Password | Password configured on cPanel | Password configured on cPanel |
Port (outgoing) | 465 | 25 or 587 |
SSL/TLS secure connection | yes | no |
Good to know: You can also use the POP protocol but we generally do not recommend it. The only difference from IMAP is the port to use: 995 for encrypted connection, and 110 for unencrypted connection.
You can also access your emails via your webmail: simply type "webmail." followed by your domain name in your browser's address bar, for example webmail.mapetiteentreprise.re.

This is particularly useful if you have a configuration issue, to verify that the password you are using is correct. If the password does not work on the webmail, then the password is incorrect.
