Installing an application on your server may seem complex, especially if this is your first experience with hosting. Fortunately, our hosting plans include Softaculous, which considerably simplifies this process. This auto-installer tool lets you install an application without having to use FTP or MySQL. You can also try out the available software before installing it by going directly to the Softaculous website.

Log in to your cPanel
In the "Software" section, click "Softaculous App Installer"
Search for a piece of software in the left-hand column, either via the search engine or via the suggested categories
Click the "Install Now" button on the software's overview page
If needed, change the location where you want to install your application, confirm the installation options and click the "Install" button at the bottom of the page

How do I give a user access to my account and manage their permissions?

At Hodi, we've made the choice to protect your account and your data. For this reason, our teams can only respond to people who are officially registered as users on your client area.

In practical terms, if a developer, a service provider, or a colleague needs to contact us or access your services, they must first be added as a user on your account.

Good news: this is very simple to do, in just a few clicks, and without ever sharing your password - each person has their own access, with permissions that you define yourself.

This system lets you:

keep full control over your account,
know who has access to what,
be able to remove access at any time, for example if you change service providers,
restrict access to certain services or domains only, if needed. You can also use this system to give specific access to your accounting department, so they can view and retrieve invoices independently.

How do I do this?

Log in to your Client Area
In the "My account" menu, choose "User management"
Click "Invite a user"
Enter the email address of the person to invite
Click "Choose Permissions" and select the options you want. Note: if you're sharing access with your accountant, only the "View & Pay Invoices" permission is required.

The invited person will receive an email to access your services

How do I configure my FTP client to upload my site?

To upload your site from your computer to our servers, you will need to use an FTP client, such as FileZilla.

Which username and password should I use?

By default, your hosting account has an FTP account whose username and password are the same as your cPanel username found in your welcome email. This is not the username and password for your client account. If you have lost your cPanel username or password, click here to find out how to recover it.

You can also create other FTP accounts in the "FTP Accounts" section of your cPanel. Be careful to change the path indicated in the "Directory" section so that it matches your website's folder. Your main domain name is located in the public_html folder. If you are taking part in 24h by WebCup, you do not have this option, you must use your cPanel username and password.
