How can I adjust the resources (CPU, RAM, workers) of my instance?

Is your Odoo instance starting to show signs of slowing down, or conversely, do you want to reduce the resources allocated to a rarely used test environment? No need to change plans or wait for us to step in - you can adjust these settings yourself directly from Hodiploy.

Where to find this setting:

1. Log in to Hodiploy from your Client Area
2. Select the relevant instance from your list
3. Click "Edit" to modify the instance

There you'll find the sliders for adjusting the CPU, RAM, and number of workers allocated to that specific instance. Each instance keeps its own settings, so you can, for example, allocate more power to your production environment than to your test environment.

One important thing to keep in mind. Confirming this change triggers a redeployment of your instance so the new resources are taken into account. Make sure none of your users are working on it while you make this change, to avoid any data loss or interruption mid-use.

How to size the number of workers correctly

The number of workers determines how many requests your Odoo instance can process in parallel. A setting that's too low can slow down your instance under heavy load, while a setting that's too high wastes resources.
Odoo recommends a simple formula to help you find the right number.

Number of workers ≈ (vCPU count × 2) + 1

For example, with 2 vCPUs allocated, you'd aim for a number of workers close to 5.

Power that scales with your needs

The benefit of this setup is that you're never locked into your initial configuration. If your business grows, if a client adds users, or if you notice slowdowns at certain times, you can increase resources yourself whenever it makes sense. Conversely, nothing stops you from scaling down a development or staging instance that doesn't need as much power as a production environment.
