What is Hodiploy and what is it for?
You've subscribed to Odoo Cloud by Hodi and your client area mentions "Hodiploy"? That's our in-house tool, designed to give you real control over your Odoo instances, without going through a generic interface. Here's what it actually lets you do.
So what exactly is Hodiploy?
Hodiploy is the management platform our teams built for Odoo instances hosted at Hodi. It was designed as a more complete and more flexible alternative to the standard Odoo.sh interface, especially for Odoo integrators who manage several instances for several clients.
Directly connected to your Hodi account, Hodiploy brings together in one place everything you need to create, monitor and administer your Odoo environments, from development through to production. The interface is available in English and French, in light or dark theme.
What you can do with it
Get a clear overview of all your instances
As soon as you log in, you see at a glance each instance's status (active, in progress, offline, backing up or restoring), its version, its Git branch, its last update and its last Git deployment.
Create a new instance in a few clicks
Naming your instance, choosing between a hodiploy.app subdomain or your own domain name, selecting the Odoo version and edition (Community or Enterprise), everything is done straight from the interface.
Link your Git repository
Connect your GitHub account once and pick a repository from the list, with no deploy key and no webhook to create. Or plug in any other Git host over SSH. Either way, every push to the chosen branch redeploys the instance.
Adjust each instance's resources
CPU, RAM, worker count, you can grow the power allocated to each instance without changing plan or waiting for us to step in, up to your server's capacity.
Back up, restore, duplicate
Each instance is backed up automatically every night, and you can trigger one at any time. From the "Backups" screen you restore a set onto the instance itself or into a new instance, you lock one so it is never overwritten, or you duplicate a whole instance to give yourself a test environment. Each set can also be downloaded, piece by piece, in the format it was captured in: your data leaves the platform whenever you want it to.
Recover a deleted instance
A deleted instance is not immediately lost: it stays listed under "Deleted instances", and its backups are kept for a few days. A "Restore" button brings it back with its settings and its latest backup.
Import an existing Odoo
Coming from Odoo.sh, Odoo Online or an on-premise server? The "Import" page opens a temporary SFTP drop on your own server, where you upload your export before loading it into the instance.
Configure your email sending
Use our MailHog server for test environments, or your own SMTP with control over the port, encryption and authentication. Changeable at any time.
Follow your logs and your activity log
Each instance has a logs tab (deployment steps, Odoo logs, Hodiploy logs) and an activity log that records everything done to the instance, by whom, and when: creations, edits, deployments, backups, restores, updates. You can also enable email alerts to be warned when something goes wrong, instead of watching yourself.
Open a terminal on an instance
The "Actions" menu opens a terminal in your browser, straight inside the instance's Odoo container: enough to run an Odoo shell, check which version of a dependency is installed or look at a file, with no SSH key and no software to install. See how to open a terminal.
Follow resource usage
The "Resource usage" screen shows the instance's processor, memory, network and disk, from the last hour to the last month. The measurements come from your server, which samples itself every minute, so you can size on numbers rather than impressions. See how to follow resource usage.
Add services alongside Odoo
Redis for shared sessions, MinIO for attachments, Gotenberg for PDFs, ClamAV for antivirus scanning: these addon services start alongside your ERP in a few clicks, on your own server. See how to add them.
Protect a sensitive instance
The "Actions" menu lets you lock an instance: no edit, no deletion, no restore over it until it is unlocked.
How to access it
- Log in to your Hodi Client Area
- Find your service on your dashboard and click "Odoo Cloud"
- In the left sidebar, under "Actions", click "Connect to Hodiploy"
You land straight on the Hodiploy interface, where your active instances are listed and where you can create new ones with the "+ New instance" button.
