Who at Hodi can access my instance, and is it logged?
The short answer: every action performed on your server through Hodiploy is written to an activity history that says who did what, when, and from where. That includes us.
Signing in always leaves a trace
There is no Hodiploy password: you enter the panel from the client area, through a single-use link that expires after a few minutes. Every sign-in is recorded, and so is every invalid, expired or reused link.
One history for everything that touches your instances
On your dashboard, the "Logs" button opens the "Hodiploy" tab: the history of actions on your server. Among other things, it records:
- configuration changes, deployments and updates
- backups, restores, and backup downloads
- terminal sessions opened on an instance
- remote database access opened, changed or closed, with the authorized IP addresses
- Odoo user password resets
Each entry carries the identity of its author: you, a user of your client area, or Hodi.
And when Hodi steps in
When our support intervenes on your server, it goes through the same panel and the same history: the entry is labeled "by Hodi support", with the e-mail address of the person who acted. The platform's automatic tasks (nightly backups, monitoring, scheduled updates) report into the same history as system entries.
Our support is not an admin on your server by default: your instances marked "production" are closed to it, exactly as they are to a plain user. No terminal, no application logs, no backups, no configuration. If you ask us to work on one, you open that access with a checkbox in Settings > Admins, and you close it again afterwards; both moves are dated and attributed in the activity log. See admins and users: who can do what?
So, to the question "can Hodi access my instance?", the answer is: yes, that is what lets us help you, within the limits of what you grant us, and you see it every time it happens.
