In the event of an outage or cyberattack, how are my data and my site protected?
It's a fair question, and the answer fits in one sentence: at Hodi, your data is protected by default, and you can strengthen that protection based on how critical your business is. Here's how it works, without unnecessary jargon.
First, your data is backed up
Whatever your hosting, your data is backed up to a second data center. The location of this backup depends on the hosting type:
- Web hosting: your data is backed up out-of-country, to a second data center. Even in the event of a serious incident at a data center (hardware failure, weather, local conditions), your data isn't in the same place as the problem.
- Dedicated virtual server: your data is backed up in-country, to meet compliance and regulatory requirements (in particular data-localization obligations).
On our standard plans, service is restored on a best-effort basis: we restore your data and get your site back up as fast as possible, but with no contractual time commitment. For many businesses, this is enough.
Strengthening protection: an option suited to your hosting
If downtime, even a few hours, has a real cost for you (e-commerce, business application, online service), you can move up to enhanced continuity. Each hosting type has its own dedicated option:
- Web hosting → CYBER+
- Dedicated virtual server → Managed DRP
In both cases, you get:
- Automatic failover to a preconfigured standby site, which resumes operations with no manual action needed from you.
- A guaranteed 2-hour RTO. The RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is the maximum time needed to restore service. Where our standard plans work on a best-effort basis, these options make it a contractual commitment: in the event of a major disaster, your business is back up within two hours.
On top of that, with Managed DRP on a dedicated server, you choose where your backup is stored, based on your legal and operational constraints.

What does this mean for you in practice? With the right option, you're not left facing an open-ended outage: you know in advance, in black and white, how long it will take to get back online.
BCP, DRP: two useful concepts to know
These protections are part of two complementary plans, standard in risk management:
- The BCP (Business Continuity Plan) aims to keep your operations running during an incident.
- The DRP (Disaster Recovery Plan) aims to quickly restore your systems after a disaster: recovering data from backups, bringing critical infrastructure and applications back online.
The first manages the crisis while it's happening, the second sets everything straight afterward. Together, they limit financial, material, and reputational losses.
Plans tested regularly
A recovery plan is only as good as its performance on the day it's actually needed. That's why we regularly run recovery-scenario tests, to check under real conditions that the setup works and to fix any weak point before an incident exposes it. The peace of mind we offer rests on these concrete checks, not on mere promises.
