Managed or unmanaged server: what's the difference and which one should you choose?
What is an unmanaged server?
An unmanaged server gives you access to the infrastructure, but you are responsible for its technical management.
This means you must manage, yourself or with your IT team:

This option is mainly suited if you already have technical skills in-house.
What is a managed server?
A managed server includes more in-depth technical support.
The goal is to let you focus on your business, while the technical team supports you with the server's administration.
This can notably cover:

- assistance in case of issues

Which option should you choose?
If you have a technical team capable of administering a server, an unmanaged package may be enough.
On the other hand, if you don't have a systems administrator, or if you'd rather avoid managing the technical side, it's better to choose a managed package.
